James joined Karyopharm in May 2021 as the Executive Director of Legal and Compliance and was promoted to Chief Compliance Officer in October 2022. James is responsible for ensuring that Karyopharm remains compliant with healthcare-related laws and regulations and that the Company upholds the highest standards of business ethics. Prior to joining Karyopharm, James led the commercial legal team at AMAG, where he advised on a diverse portfolio of legal matters across commercial, medical, and market access functions. Previously, James worked in a variety of legal and compliance roles of increasing responsibility at Novo Nordisk and Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, supporting a wide range of retail and specialty products. James holds a JD from University of Southern California Law School and Bachelor’s degrees in History and Philosophy from Penn State.
